"I
don't know much about art, but I know what I like". How
many times have we heard that? Why hunt and search for the perfect
piece of art, when you can have what you like created for
you?
To
create original works of art that pleases others is the ultimate
pleasure derived from art -
both for A.D. as an artist, and for the owner of the finished
art. Original works of art can be created in many different mediums:
mixed-media, airbrushed acrylics or
drawings... and in many different sizes, from smaller pieces
to larger-than-life murals.
In Preparation —
A.D. prefers to work from reference
photos that he shoots personally. He does this a variety of reasons:
1)
He likes to know
what he's painting so that he can create a better finished piece
of art.
2)
As an experienced photographer,
A.D. shoots all his reference material with an excellent professional
quality digital SLR camera. To create a work of art that everyone
can all be proud of means he needs to work from reference materials
that are sharp and in focus. This also allows him to study the
details and edit
reference materials
as
needed.
3)
We respect the copyrights
of others and copyright law. If A.D. takes the reference photos
he knows where they
came from, therefore he's not going to violate anyone's copyrights
in the process of creating your art. Besides,
original
art isn't
original art if I were creating it from someone else's provided
images.
Time Frame —
Art doesn't happen overnight (even when A.D. paints all night).
A painting that we can all be proud of takes time. The Indian
Summer painting,
for example, took 140 hours to complete. Granted, you may not be
looking for something that involved, but they all take time.
An original piece of art can take anywhere from a few days to a
few months, depending on existing commitments and the complexity
of the project.
Usually, we can give you a pretty good idea as to when an original
can be finished and delivered. If there is something you're considering,
and time is essential, let us know and A.D. will take your due
date into
consideration.
Cost —
The price for an original piece of art will vary depending on the
size, medium, and complexity of the piece.
We require a deposit of one-half with the balance due
upon completion. Shipping and handling (if applicable) will be
extra. In the event of cancellation on your part, the deposit is
non-refundable.
