A.D. creates his art using several mediums, working mostly with airbrushes, brushes, edged tools, erasers and whatever else does the job. His large realistic originals are typically on canvas or panel. A.D. also enjoys painting on metal, first grinding his surface, creating dynamic backgrounds for his paintings, then airbrushing with urethanes.
A.D.’s painting passion and creative focus is on producing large fine art paintings tastefully featuring the beauty of the female form. These paintings are realistic in nature and are typically created life-size and larger. Most paintings range in size from six to 24 square feet.
Original abstract art on metal is a true passion for A.D., who has been painting abstract along side his realistic work for over 25 years. His abstract paintings on metal have the illusion of changing, almost by the minute, and seem to have a life of their own.
Always an imaginative innovator, A.D. takes his art beyond just paintings. A.D. has developed proprietary techniques – translating vibrant, imaginative art borne from metal to create contemporary original artworks. For this magical approach, the artist employs a synergy of many disciplines including sculpture, drawing and painting. With this current body of work, his metal art creates the illusion of dimension while articulating the passion, warmth and beauty of his chosen subject matter.
Additionally, the abstract originals on this site are created on metal, painted with industrial automotive finishes resulting in a polished surface. These contemporary dynamic paintings appear to change and take on a life of their own as the color shifting paints and special effects interact with the available light.
The “Other Works” section includes personal art that doesn’t meet any of the criteria of the other galleries listed above. There is a mixture here of earlier works and art completed in different mediums including a few abstracts and portraits.
There’s nothing quite like an American-made motorcycle. The sound, the ride, and the style are like nothing else on two wheels. As a long-time rider and enthusiast, A.D. enjoys creating paintings of motorcycles because he can relate to them so well.
The Motorcycle series features six original paintings ranging in size from 3 ft. x 4 ft., up to 4 ft. x 5 ft.
A.D. enjoys working with others to create commissioned artworks. This section represents commissioned fine art and residential murals. Figurative commissions are a special pleasure as they allow him to capture a single moment of time. These are the most intimate form of portraiture.
Movies are a life-long passion for A.D. who painted dozens of murals in his five years as Hollywood Video’s resident artist (1989-1994). It was fast and furious, with him often painting two and three large murals a week. A few of his personal favorites are featured on this site.

Our customer’s satisfaction is a top priority. If, for any reason, you are unhappy with your purchase, you may return it within 14 days from purchase date for credit towards a replacement artwork. All products must be returned in like new (undamaged) condition, in original shipping container and be returned with all accompanying certificates/paperwork you received with your order. You can request a substitute artwork. A.D. Cook Fine Art does not pay for return shipping fees.
