A.D. Cook is an internationally recognized emerging fine art
talent. He enjoys the exhilarating process of creating dramatic
and distinctive paintings. He is best known for his command
and finesse in portraying the form and light in ways that evoke
emotional response from the viewer. The figurative works in
his current series are life-sized or larger. A skilled photographer
in his own right, A.D. works from his own photo reference, collaborating
with models to achieve the precise imagery in his vision.
As a regular contributing editor for Airbrush Action magazine, A.D.'s work has
been featured in the publication numerous times and on the cover twice. He furthers
the art community by consistently writing articles for AirbrushTalk.com and
other online venues. His knowledge base is shared with students who travel to
his studio to attend his workshops or receive private instruction. Additionally,
he has taught several airbrush seminars throughout the Northwest and instructed
at the Airbrush Action Getaways in Las Vegas, NV.
His work is featured in The
Ultimate Airbrush Handbook by Pamela Shanteau, and two of A.D.'s murals are
featured in Airbrush Action 3 - The Best New Airbrush Illustration compiled with
Airbrush Action magazine.
A.D. has enjoyed working as an artist for most of his life, and professionally
for over 20 years. He enjoyed a successful eight year long career as creative
director and president of A.D. Cook + Associates, Inc., a Portland, Oregon graphic
design firm servicing many national clients. The skills honed in that capacity
have
been
advantageous
for
developing his unique style (A

As a former Creative Director for Hollywood Entertainment Corporation, dba Hollywood
Video, he created the company's logo and identity. During his five year tenure,
he painted hundreds of larger-than-life size interior murals carrying the Hollywood
theme throughout the video chain. Several can be viewed in the Hollywood
Murals section of this site.
Most recently, A.D. has acquired a licensing arrangement with WirelessDeveloper.com
to make his imagery available to download to wireless devices worldwide.
Currently, A.D. and wife/web guru Kathryn are traveling the United States in
